Some person drawing stuff.

Jan 23

The first piece of “fanart” I ever drew, in 1998 for a school assignment. We were asked to make a bookmark based on a book we’d read, and I had just finished the Generation X novel by Scott Lobdell & Eliott S! Maggin (an excellent read to this day).
Y’know, in case you needed more proof that it’s a $diety given talent that a person can draw well, and not buttloads of work, sweat, dead trees and marker fumes. This seems to be a debate in places I frequent, lately.
What was your first? I showed you mine!

Have you seen the Urbance trailer that’s taken over my tumblr dash? If you missed out, it’s all over their site and well worth it:

I couldn’t help but take a shot at drawing what might be my favorite character, Amy. Not quite there, but will not be my last attempt!

Black Widow as a Magical Girl. I expect she’s got a piroette move that she uses to cut you up with her garrotte wire. It would include sparkles.
I can’t take full credit for this, It’s all Lilbit’s fault.
Photoshop all the way.

Jason Todd, having what would likely be an engaging conversation with his mask.

OMG yes, he would totally do something like this!  But wouldn’t it be “Alas poor Yorick?” Sorry I’m a Shakespeare nerd. I kind of want to write a fic with this kind of scene in it. I’m having all sorts of ideas

Ah crap you’re right. I get my wires crossed ridiculously often. I’ve edited the original post to fix it, sort of.
Glad you like it!

Unicorn! The Last Unicorn was a huge influence on me as a kid and one of my earliest memories. For a long time I drew unicorns far better than people, but eventually I grew out of that when I got into comics full force.

I’ve been getting a few questions lately regarding how I manage to produce art since vision issues are a chronic problem for me, especially lately. A large part is due to muscle memory (which is a fantastic thing and another reason to draw every day as much as possible), and the rest is thanks to Command Central (pictured).
Left is my 15” Macbook Pro hooked up to a 23 inch monitor, external keyboard (below) and tablet. Right is the monitor for my PC and casting rig, with the camera and mic attached to the lamp in the center. I use ManyCam together with Adobe Flash Media Encoder (up on screen) to cast, but it doubles as an easy way to magnify whatever I’m doing and check to make sure that I’m totally off. It’s also a great way to check accuracy by turning the drawing upside down or using ManyCam’s option to flip image, rather than trying to locate a mirror - all great ways to check that you’re drawing something accurately.
If I’m working digitally it’s on the Macbook using the same tricks, but this time as keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop (the larger monitor makes this a lot easier as well!).
To round out the setup, my scanner is further to the right, under another pile of WIP art, supplies are stored in caches under the Macbook, scanner, and around monitors, and yes, that IS a Buffy poster behind the Macbook.  ;)

Hi, all — Indigo, here.
The holidays are a crummy time of year to run out of money, but winter is the worst time of year to try to avoid getting evicted.
The money sitch is okay, but it could be better.  The boyfriend’s still looking for work, and our safety net is pretty much used up.  So I’m a little concerned (understatement!) about making next month’s rent.  Any commissions would be appreciated.
If you can’t afford a commission, I understand, and the signal boost would be appreciated too.
RULES:  For what I could not fit in the flyer:
G to PG-13 rating only on the drawings
Yes, I can draw furries, keeping to the limitation above.
Yes, I can draw slash, keeping to the limitation above.
I can draw in multiple fandoms. If you’re not sure - ask.
I can draw in multiple styles: Danny Phantom, Kim Possible, Gravity Falls. If you want to see me imitate a style, ask. I might be able to work it out for you.
Simple props include things like a teacup, a pencil, a candle. They do not include things like “a movie accurate Golden Snitch” or “an accurate rendering of my tattoo”.
I have a day job, so the work will be done evenings and weekends, spooncount permitting, but I tend to be fairly quick with avatar commissions.
Any questions I haven’t covered here?  Email commission.indigo@gmail.com
Thanks, and happy holidays!

Signal boost!

It’s pretty apparent that I haven’t been posting much - the projects I’ve been working on aren’t appropriate for (my) tumblr, or aren’t ready for show.
But I want to show that I really appreciate the response to the stuff I have been posting, so here’s a peek at some concept art from a game I’m currently working on.
Hope you like it! I promise to try and have more stuff to post soon.
