Jack (back) & Hyung (front) from my upcoming webcomic Colt.

The Thompson brothers, from my upcoming webcomic Colt. I often feel like I get in a rut drawing same-face same-body characters given my regular workload, so I’m reaaaaally looking forward to drawing these guys all together.

Text:
I am the girl that has hope. I am the girl that stands alone. I am the girl that does the right thing even if I am afraid. I am the girl that loves herself despite the world. I am the girl that looks in the mirror and says “I am beautiful”. I am the girl that smiles even though she doesn’t have to. I am the girl that believes. I am the girl that dances like no one’s watching. I am the girl that loves like she’s never been hurt. I am the girl that is a single mother. I am the girl that is someone’s best friend. I am the girl that doesn’t cave under peer pressure. I am the girl that stands by her convictions. I am the girl that stood up for someone else. I am the girl that was picked last in gym class. I am the girl who sat alone at lunch. I am the girl who said something nice to a stranger. I am the girl of all colors and creed. I am the girl that scares away someone’s monsters. I am the girl with capable hands. I am the girl that can fly. I am the girl that will search for an answer. I am the girl that will climb through a window if the door is closed. I am the girl you least expect. I am the girl with diamonds in her eyes. I am the girl who is an only child and yet someone’s sister. I am the girl that will start a revolution. I am the girl that will save someone’s life. I am the girl that can do anything you can do. I am the girl that could be you. I AM SUPERGIRL.

Jack, from my graphic novel Colt. And no, that quote is not improperly appropriated, unless we’re considering this is a black and white image.
This image is from one of my sketchbooks (#4, which also had a portrait of Jack on the cover). Ballpoint pen, and photoshop for the text.

A page from one of my sketchbook zines. Black Canary progression shot, from thumbnail to inks to a B&W of the final piece. The final piece can be seen in color over here!

A page from one of my sketchbook zines, featuring a character from my GN “Colt”. Done in ballpoint pen.
